Graduated in May 2024 with a degree in Graphics Design. Humyra is an artist & designer who enjoys looking into the human condition, the psyche, languages, religion, Islamic history, art, and literature. When not working, she’s trying to get through an evergrowing reading list, doing half finished sketches or stuck in categorizing her design library.

01 The Poetics of Language / THESIS BFA

By examining the script, sound, and meaning of Arabic, Bengali, Hindi, Persian and Urdu, my goal is to raise curiosity about the cultures people come from, share what else language brings to the table other than being a mode for communication and as a result foster meaningful connections between people.

An exhibition project done in collaboration with Liwan Design Labs and Studios. Humyra was part of a team of graphic designers who played a key role in designing Liwan’s exhibition branding and graphics element for a permanent, historical exhibition.

05 Journal of Memories

An interactive book for friends, couples, or siblings made to allow users to insert personal photos, writings, cutouts (and more) into handmade pockets and envelopes within the book. It is a journal to keep adding onto; a way to compile and display special moments, experiences and information we have with a significant person in our lives.
